Modern Day exists to  build bridges between those who are called to go into all the world and those who are called to send them.  It is our mission to equip missionaries and facilitate their needs as they are preparing to go and also as they are serving out in the field.  Our vision is to help thousands of people, young and old, pursue their dreams of reaching the world for Jesus; one person, one city and one nation at a time.  Our desire is to form partnerships that pave the way for people to serve in another country for both short and long term periods.  We are currently working with 38 missionaries/families, 22 of which are already on the field.   Since the summer of 2008, Modern Day has facilitated endeavors in thirteen countries and new ones are being added on a regular basis.  Some of these endeavors include:

Youth and Young Adults Projects:

  • Developing a prayer center in Belgium aimed at young people
  • Serving as a leadership intern at a Denmark Bible College
  • Starting a coffee house in Southeast Asia (Fall 2010)

Humanitarian Projects:

  • Providing small loans to help Serbian Gypsies take their micro-enterprise to the next level

Building and Strengthening the National Church:

  • Planting churches among the unreached peoples of the Philippines and Southeast Asia
  • Equipping national churches in Austria and Uruguay

We invite you to partner with us as we labor together for the success of these endeavors.  One way is give a tax deductible gift to Modern Day.  We are in the process of building the infrastructure to handle more projects and your support would be greatly appreciated.  Secondly, if you know someone that is interested in serving in another country, we encourage you to spread the word of the services Modern Day provides.  Together we can make a difference!

Testimonies

Hello! We are Shaun and Amanda Wissmann. Currently we are serving as missionaries in Lima, Peru and have been since October of 2009. In March of 2009, after a great deal of prayer and wisdom seeking, we realized that God was calling us into the mission field. When that realization became clear, our decision to go was very easy. We love Jesus, Peru, and what God has done in our lives. Unfortunately, over time, the process for getting to the mission field became difficult. As a result of moving to a different state, and consequently changing churches, we could not fit into many of the qualifications necessary to be “sent.” Trusting in God, we prayed for another solution. In His faithfulness He provided Modern Day.

Modern Day has been with us every step of the way. Not only have they made the donation process easier, they have also been a sounding board for all things. They are a part of our team, and we are grateful. They pray for us, keep us financially accountable, and make sure to be involved in our spiritual well being. As a result of Godʼs faithfulness, and the team that surrounds us, we have dedicated the next five years of our lives to Lima. Without God using Modern Day as a sending organization, we may have never even stepped onto a plane.

Modern Day has been such a blessing to me during my time overseas. Not only has it provided an easy way for supporters to donate, but it is a great source of encouragement on a daily basis. Some days are harder than others on the mission field and sometimes you just need some uplifting words. After reading emails from Modern Day I feel built up in my Spirit. It is also really cool to look at the website and see all the other missionaries that are out there and feel connected to them because of Modern Day.
